Hotelli Aalto

Hotelli Aalto is a Nordic-styled mountain hotel in Kitashiobara, Fukushima. The main building has an indoor bath that leads out to a rotenburo (露天風呂) looking into the forest, filled with kakenagashi (源泉かけ流し) spring water. The bath can be used around the clock apart from some cleaning time. A separate annex bath is split by time, women in the afternoon and evening and men in the morning. Rooms 101 to 105 have their own bath with the same kakenagashi water. The hotel is for overnight guests only and does not take day-use bathers (higaeri nyuyoku, 日帰り入浴). Free parking is available. Reviewers describe a quiet, low-key place with good food and attentive staff, best enjoyed by staying in rather than rushing about.
