Hotel Iwatoya Onsen Hotel

The bathing here is an open-air bath looking down toward Otagiri gorge, with an indoor bath just before it. The water is milky white and soft on the skin, and the view changes from fresh green to autumn colour to snow. Day-use bathing is listed, and the hotel has a car park. Tsubame Onsen (燕温泉) is a mountain spring in Myoko that is said to have been a hidden bath of the warlord Uesugi Kenshin. Iwatoya (岩戸屋) is a stay-focused hotel here, run by a new operator since a 2024 renovation.
