About
Housenkan (放泉閣) is a simple, isolated inn deep in the mountains of Sanbe-cho, Shimane. The spring here is a radium kosen (鉱泉, cold mineral spring) rather than a hot spring, so the water is drawn cold and heated before bathing. Guests stay in an exclusive-use indoor bath with visible mineral sediment in the water. Day-use bathing is not available. The inn serves meals with an unhurried, homemade feel.
