Okutsu Onsen resort Komeya Club

Komeya Club Okutsu is a hotel in Okutsu, one of the three historic hot springs known as Mimasaka Santo (美作三湯), with an indoor bath and an outdoor bath, both fed by natural onsen water drawn from the hotel's own source. The main outdoor bath, Kaede-no-yu (楓の湯), is normally reserved for private use, but on weekends there are free slots where men's and women's turns are swapped. A second bath, Kakure-no-yu (隠れの湯), is a private jet bath on the hotel's own source, kept flowing fresh, and needs a separate booking. Okutsu's spring has been used since the Sengoku era by regional warlords and the lords of Tsuyama Castle for therapeutic bathing, and the water is known locally as a bijin-no-yu (美人の湯), a beauty bath: mild enough to soak in for a long while, with guests often noting how smooth their skin feels afterward. The hotel sits above the town in a quiet, forested spot with good views. Dining is a seasonal kaiseki course built from Okayama's mountain, river, and coastal ingredients, and the restaurant also takes bookings for memorial gatherings and reunions without an overnight stay.
