A sodium-led bicarbonate-chloride spring drawn from 2,000 m underground in Yokohama's Aoba ward. It is the classic jūsō-sen (soda-water) style softened by a salty chloride edge, and at weakly alkaline pH it sits squarely in Japan's beauty-water family, leaving skin smooth. The water carries a yellow tint and a faint moor (peat) aroma, with moderate mineralization that gives the bath noticeable body.

About

Yokohama Aoba Onsen Kirari Bettei is a day-use bathing facility located in Aoba Ward, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, providing a quiet environment for elementary school age and above. The source is a sodium bicarbonate-chloride hot spring (weakly alkaline) drawn from 2,000 meters underground since December 2023. The rotenburo surrounded by bamboo forest offers partially source-heated kakenagashi. The facility includes one of the region's largest high-concentration carbonated springs, an auto-roar sauna, purgama, and ganbanyoku in the 'Onnetsubo' thermal room. Dining 'Sai Kitchen Yurari' and relaxation services such as body care and akasuri are also available.

A large complex in western Tokyo near Machida. Very clean, stylish, with many features. Unusually interesting water for a Tokyo super sento. Not only black, but also somewhat "soapy." They position it as kakenagashi (free-flowing hot spring water), but partially it's not entirely true. Pleasant water! The outdoor area has two rotenburo (open-air baths) and reclining baths. View of a beautiful overhanging bamboo forest. Inside there are many different baths, including carbonated baths, massage baths, and a rarity - several electric baths with varying strengths. Sauna and cold bath available. Milk in glass bottles available! There is ganbanyoku (hot stone spa) for an additional fee. Most of the relaxation area is in the ganbanyoku zone, so if staying long, it's better to get it. Good restaurant with options from budget soba to kaiseki-style meals. Large free parking. Recommended for western Tokyo 👍
