Kojohama Spa Hotel sits on Hokkaido's Pacific coast, at Kojohama onsen, a hot-spring area locally known for salty water reputed to leave skin smooth. The indoor bath is split into a hotter pool and a milder one, so you can pick your temperature, and the open-air bath has heated flooring underfoot, so it stays comfortable even in winter. There's also a roomy sauna with automatic steam sessions (loyu), a two-tier cold plunge, and a jet bath that runs on the same onsen water. The hotel has 31 guest rooms and a restaurant serving dinner, and day-use bathing is open to visitors who aren't staying the night.
