Shikano Onsen Imaichi Shukaijo

This is a single-tub communal bathhouse on the ground floor of the local community hall in Shikano, unstaffed and paid for at a coin box just inside the entrance. The spring water comes out hot and runs clear, and bathers set the temperature themselves, adding water to cool it and turning the source tap when it runs lukewarm, rather than relying on any thermostat. It's kept going by a shrinking handful of local residents rather than run as a business, so it still feels like a neighborhood bath rather than a place built for visitors.
