Japanese Inn Anjuann

Anjuann has two rotenburo, one lined in stone and one in wood, filled with water from the city's own hot-spring source and looking out over the Shimanto River. The men's and women's baths swap morning and evening, so a single night lets you try both. Each has an indoor bath alongside it, and one guest found the outdoor bath mild enough for a long, easy soak. Guest rooms have their own bath too, though it's heated river water rather than the spring. The inn sits on the site of a former castle, on a hill above the town of Nakamura, and the view from the baths and rooms takes in the town and the river below, best at sunset. It's a quiet, nine-room ryokan on that hilltop.
