The hotel sits on the cliffs of Cape Ashizuri, the southern tip of Shikoku, with baths drawn from the natural radon-spring water of the local Ashizuri onsen area. There are two indoor baths, gender-separated open-air baths facing the sunset and the night lights along the cape, a sauna and a cold bath. Local legend holds that the priest Kobo Daishi (弘法大師) eased his fatigue in the Ashizuri onsen area some 1,200 years ago, and pilgrims walking Shikoku's 88 temple circuit to the nearby 38th temple, Kongofukuji (金剛福寺), have long rested in its hot springs. The hotel is also known for clear night skies over the Pacific, with a terrace built for stargazing.
