Yado Atagoya

Yado Atagoya is a small inn in Iizaka Onsen, in Fukushima. It has two indoor baths filled with colorless, clear spring water, and the inn is upfront that they are small. The baths are swapped between men and women by time slot, so there is no mixed bathing. One is shaped after the gentle curves of a Jomon pot and takes in daylight through its windows. The other is plain, built to leave the water as the point. The inn also points guests to the three nearby public baths (kyodo yokujo, 共同浴場) of Iizaka, the town's old way of bathing: stay in one place, then wander between the shared outer baths. There is parking on site.
