The signature bath is the Hanten Gankutsu-buro (半天嵒窟風呂), an unusual pool that is half cave, half open-air, hand-chiseled from the rock. The Mannin-buro (万人風呂) is a large indoor standing bath with spring water cascading in. A small Aomori-hiba wood bath and two private baths you can lock yourself into complete the lineup. All baths run on kakenagashi (源泉かけ流し). The inn has been in the same family for sixteen generations and is a member of Nihon Hito wo Mamoru Kai (日本秘湯を守る会), the association dedicated to protecting Japan's secret springs. Baths rotate between men and women at 21:30.
