About
A budget guesthouse and rider house a few minutes' walk from the Sawando bus terminal into Kamikochi. The bath draws on Sawando Onsen's Yakedake (焼岳) source and is kept flowing, with a gender-separated indoor bath and a semi-open-air bath reached by a short walk outside, open enough to feel like bathing in the wild. The water runs hot and is light and smooth on the skin, long known locally as a skin-beautifying spring. Day-trip bathers are welcome too, and when the desk is unattended overnight, they just leave payment in a box at the door. Rooms are simple: private tatami rooms alongside a shared rider room where travelers sleep on futons.
