YesClosed Thursdays, except around New Year, Golden Week and other holiday stretches. Last admission is at 20:00 even though the bath stays open until 21:00. Extra maintenance closures happen through the year on scattered weekdays, so it's worth calling ahead to confirm.
900 yen on weekdays and 1,000 yen on weekends and holidays for adults; children from age 2 through elementary school pay half price. Cash only. Day visitors can also rent the kashikiri granite bath for 3,300 yen per hour; it is first come first served with no reservations, so you may have to wait, but it's subordinate to overnight guests and may not be available after 15:00 check-in.

Araki Kosen Ryokan is an old ryokan in Chichibu, running since 1827, with sulfur spring water. The shared baths include separate men's and women's indoor baths, an outdoor bath, and a small sauna, plus a granite kashikiri bath that day visitors can rent by the hour, first come first served. Four of the twelve guest rooms each have their own private outdoor bath fed by the same source. Bathers mention the outdoor bath runs on the lukewarm side (nuruyu), good for a long soak, and a cold plunge drawn straight from the source.
