About

A city-run bathhouse high in the Abe valley, where the Umegashima road narrows into forest. The spring is a sodium bicarbonate water that leaves the skin smooth, and the building pairs a large indoor bath with an open-air one. A rest hall seats two hundred, and the shop next door sells what the valley grows, so it works as a half-day stop rather than a quick soak. The baths were rebuilt in 2024.
