Tsukuba Onsen Hotel is the only inn on Mount Tsukuba with its own onsen source, drilled in 1974. The alkaline water is soft and smooth on the skin, filling both an indoor bath and an open-air bath shaded by the mountain's trees. The building shows its age but reviewers describe it as clean and well kept, with plain tatami rooms and staff who look after guests personally.
