About
Onsen Nishiki-yu, located in Shimoarata, Kagoshima City, is a natural hot spring with a sodium chloride spring. Renovated in 2016, it features a spacious and bright bathing area with a sleeping bath, cold bath, two types of electric baths (shallow and deep), and a sauna. The floor has germanium plates which help improve sensitivity to cold and promote sweating. Seasonal baths include an ice bath in midsummer, iris bath in spring, yuzu bath in winter, and bontan bath on New Year's Day. It is a 2-minute walk from Arata Hachiman tram and bus stop, with parking for 35 cars.
