六郷温泉 あったか山ろくごうおんせん あったかやま
Closed the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month (the following day if either falls on a public holiday). Bathing hours run 6:00 to 22:00 from April through November, and 7:00 to 22:00 from December through March.
Adults ¥500, elementary and middle-school students ¥250. A 10-visit pass costs ¥4,500 (adults only) and also works at two other town-run springs, Senhata Onsen San-R (千畑温泉サン・アール) and Sennan Onsen Yu-Topia (仙南温泉湯とぴあ). Thursdays count double toward the pass at all three.
Open-air outdoor bath
Enclosed indoor bathing area
Dry heat sauna room
On-site tent sauna ("Yamano Sauna"), a private reservable sauna built from a renovated azumaya pavilion and cooled with local Rokugo spring water — booked separately (own subsite/Jalan), not part of standard day-use bath admission.
Uses natural hot spring water
Private bath available for day-use visitors or hotel guests to reserve
Official FAQ explicitly denies a family/private bath, despite an aggregator (nifty onsen) listing a "貸切風呂" tag — the official negation is treated as authoritative.
Private onsen bath in guest rooms, for overnight guests only
Shared bathing area for all genders
No source mentions mixed bathing (混浴); the facility is described only as a standard single large bath + rotenburo, so treated as ordinary gender-separated bathing.
Welcomes children and families
Published child admission pricing implies children are welcome; no stated restriction found.
Restaurant or dining open to visitors (not just hotel meal plans)
Cottage guests can pre-order BBQ, motsunabe, or sukiyaki meal plans, but there is no restaurant/dining hall open to the public or day-use bathers.
Shower, wash stations, soap and shampoo provided
Relaxation space for after bathing
On-site or nearby parking available
Rokugo Onsen Attakayama is located near a river in the mountains of Akita Prefecture, where abundant spring water flows. The hot spring water is rich in calcium ions and is said to be effective against diabetes. Guests can enjoy a typical public bath experience in a natural setting, with cozy wooden cottages nearby providing access to the onsen.
