Matsusaki is an old ryokan in the Tatsunokuchi hot spring area, tracing back to the Edo period. Three rooftop open-air baths look out over the garden and the Hakusan mountains, one of them a private bath for families and couples, and the shared baths also have an indoor bath and a mist sauna. The water is sulfur-bearing and soft on the skin, and one tub is kept at source temperature so it can be alternated with a hotter bath. 24 of the guest rooms have their own onsen bath. The two main baths swap between men and women on a fixed morning and afternoon schedule.
