Ten no Yu Ashiyu

A public foot bath (ashiyu, 足湯) in Tendo Onsen, right across from the Azumaso inn. It is a long, fairly shallow bath with room for about thirty people, and it tends to be quiet because it sits a short walk from the roadside station and the parking. The water is warmer near the spout and cooler along the far end, so sit close to the source on a cold day. Next to it is a hand bath (te-yu, 手湯), a rare thing to find, and the spring water can be drunk too. Locals stop by to fill up. It is one of three foot baths in the Tendo onsen area.
