About
Irokan draws its own hot spring water at Shimogamo Onsen (下賀茂温泉), an old hot-spring town on the Aono River in southern Izu. The water is salty and clear, and takes on a golden tint in the bath when sunlight catches it. The indoor and outdoor sections of the large bath flow into each other, and the men's and women's sides swap once a day. A few room types have their own small onsen bath, and the inn also keeps rooms that welcome dogs, including one on the ground floor near the baths. Meals lean on seasonal Izu ingredients and local sake.
