Hamazen Inn

Every room at this ryokan in Hinagu Onsen has its own half-open-air bath, filled with kakenagashi (掛け流し) hot-spring water that runs fresh rather than being recirculated, and open to guests around the clock. A separate reservable family bath is also available alongside the room baths. Guests often mention the water leaves skin feeling smooth. The building dates to 2005 but leans into an older, Showa-era retro feel, with stone floors, wooden doors and lantern-lit corridors running through it. Hinagu Onsen itself carries a much longer story: local legend traces the spring back around 600 years, to a retainer who prayed for a wounded samurai's recovery and found hot water welling up from the tidal flats.
