Hotel Ryugu

Hotel Ryugu sits on the Amakusa coast with five named private open-air baths (kashikiri rotenburo) and a shared bath with an open-air section facing the sea. One private bath pairs its open-air tub with an indoor bath built from old cypress. One of the private baths adds a jacuzzi on a wood deck, and there's a two-person ganbanyoku stone-bed sauna and a foot bath where you can sit with a drink. The water is a sodium chloride spring, known locally as bijin-no-yu (美人の湯, "beauty water") for how smooth it feels on the skin, though one of the private baths runs on plain water rather than the spring. Rooms in the Sarasa wing have their own semi-open-air bath. The shared bath looks out over the islands of Amakusa and the sunset, a stretch of coast known for its sea views.
