Ryokan Yamatoya is a long-established inn at Furuyu onsen in the Saga mountains, with rooms looking out over the surrounding hills. The shared indoor bath holds spring water on the mild, cooler side, the kind you can soak in for a long unhurried while, and guests often mention how smooth their skin feels afterward. A private half-open-air bath added in 2024 can be booked for a soak, and one guest room has its own sake-barrel tub running with hot-spring water around the clock, while another has a private half-open-air stone bath. Even the rice at dinner is cooked in the local spring water.
