About
Momijiyu is a walk-in bath house made up of ten private family rooms rather than a shared hall, each booked by the room and each with its own indoor tub and a semi-open-air one. Some of the tubs are cut from a single block of stone. The water is alkaline and leaves the skin smooth. There is no lodging here, no amenities counter and no rest area beyond the changing space, so bring your own soap, shampoo and towel. The building is an older, plain one, run without much fuss by a local family.
