A small, no-frills ryokan in the mountains of Fukushima, and a member of the Nihon Hito wo Mamoru Kai (日本秘湯を守る会), the society that looks after Japan's more out-of-the-way hot springs. The indoor baths are separated by sex and run kakenagashi. The water comes out clear and strongly salty, with a mild temperature that lets you stay in without rushing. The kitchen makes use of local Aizu mountain salt (会津山塩, Aizu-yamaShio) throughout the meal, with salt ramen as a traditional closer.
