Shiohime no Yado Kanzan (塩姫の宿 観山) is a ryokan in Oshio Urabandai Onsen, with 24 guest rooms. It has an indoor bath for men and one for women, named Shiodono-no-yu (塩殿の湯) and Shiohime-no-yu (塩姫の湯), filled with kakenagashi spring water. The water tastes and feels salty, and bathers say it warms you through. There is also a large open-air bath by the stream, one each for men and women. It closes in winter, has been suspended at other times too, and is not filled with the spring water, so check before counting on it. The mountains and the sound of the Oshio river are part of the stay. Day-use bathing is listed, but acceptance is irregular, so call ahead.
