The indoor bathhouse runs several different tubs under one roof, among them the Shigarakiburo (信楽風呂), a lie-down bath, a jet bath, a medicinal bath, and a walking bath, plus a far-infrared sauna and an outdoor bathing area. The spring water is salty and warming, the kind that keeps you from cooling off once you're out. Private family bath rooms done in stone, wood, or barrel tubs rent by the hour for day visitors or come as simple overnight rooms, all styled after a breezy Asian resort.
