Kabuyu Public Bath

Kabuyu is a small public bathhouse, one of three public baths in Misasa, built right over the spring where the onsen's history is said to have begun, rising from the roots of an old camphor tree. The source is still in use today. The water runs clear and hot enough that most people give themselves a good rinse before easing into the tub. A free footbath and a drinking-spring fountain sit just outside, where people fill bottles to take the water home.
