The bath here is the reason to book: a fully private open-air tub reserved just for your party, plus a shared indoor bath scented with sulfur. Several rooms go further and add their own outdoor tub looking out over the Hakone mountains. The water comes piped in from Owakudani and runs milky white. It is a small, unpretentious ryokan rather than a grand resort, and reviews describe attentive staff who go out of their way for families with small children, alongside kaiseki dinners served in semi-private dining rooms.
