Each of the 12 detached cottages at this Meiji-era ryokan sits along a river and has its own private open-air bath, indoor bath, and cold-water tub. The shared baths include Kizu-yu (キズ湯), a naturally self-springing indoor spring found only here in Myoken Onsen, and the large open-air Enoki-no-yu (えのきの湯) with a sauna. A member of the Nihon Hito wo Mamoru Kai (日本秘湯を守る会), the association dedicated to preserving Japan's lesser-known hot springs.
