About

Sakuraya is a small five-room ryokan in Kannawa, the steam-filled hot-spring quarter of Beppu. Both indoor baths are for private use, book your time and soak alone or with your group, and the water comes straight from the source with no dilution, kept flowing fresh. It's a salty spring, the kind that keeps you warm well after you step out. Meals, built around local Oita dishes, are brought to your room rather than served in a restaurant. The building keeps an old, lived-in Showa-era feel and sits right among Kannawa's onsen streets, within walking distance of the public bathhouses and the town's steam-cooking spots.
