About

A symbolic local spring in Kannawa. This historic onsen is located in the Kannawa area where steam rises. It is said to be one of the four baths opened by Ippen Shonin long ago. Many core fans visit repeatedly, attracted by the quality of the spring, as well as local people. General guests must use the coin locker by inserting 100 yen, which serves as the bathing fee. The hot spring contains a large amount of metasilicic acid, which has high moisturizing effects, making it ideal for those aiming for smooth and beautiful skin. To avoid diluting the strong hot spring components, a cooling device called "Yumetake" is also installed. The bathhouse and bathtub use bluish stone called "Towada stone," giving a warm yet refreshing impression. Enjoy the natural blessings slowly and leisurely in this traditional communal bath.

80. Shibunoyu, Beppu ★ An old-school onsen for ¥100 (to pay, you must use the coin locker for clothes; non-members are not allowed to use the clothes shelves). The stated hours are 06:30 to 20:30. They stamp the Beppu Onsen-Do stamp. An OYUCA card was issued for this onsen. No staff, no shower. When there are many people, members have priority for entry. The water is clear, and the temperature is 44. It feels comfortable to breathe inside. Paying with the changing rooms is inconvenient, and there is a certain feeling of possible pressure from locals in terms of manners, but the onsen itself is memorable and pleasant. 29.04.2024 03.04.2025 04.01.2026
