Ishibune Onsen Ikoi no Ie is a small bathhouse tucked in the mountains outside Shunan, built mainly for day visitors rather than overnight guests. It has an indoor bath, a sauna, and an outdoor bath that alternates between the sexes by day (men on odd dates, women on even), fed by spring water kept running fresh through the baths. The water itself is colorless and odorless, but leaves the skin feeling smooth. A simple dining hall serves local vegetables and soba, and a wasabi soft-serve is a popular way to finish up after bathing. A handful of plain guest rooms are attached, but the bathhouse's own site is clear that day bathing is the main point of coming.
