This is the bathhouse of a roadside station (michi-no-eki, 道の駅) in the hills of Ato, Yamaguchi, with no rooms to stay in, just the baths, a restaurant and a gift shop for people passing through. A garden-style open-air bath looks out toward the surrounding mountains, and the indoor hall pairs a regular bath with a cooler, milder soaking pool, a sauna and a cold bath. There is also a reservable private bath booked by phone and a free foot bath out front for anyone. The spring water is clear and mild on the skin.
