About
Oyado Kujaku is a small ryokan set back from the main street of Ureshino Onsen. Every room has its own half-open-air tub filled with real onsen water, and three more private baths wait downstairs: Chasen-no-yu (茶泉の湯), shaped like a teapot and cup as a nod to Ureshino's tea country, Koryoku-no-yu (湖緑の湯), a wide stone-lined tub roomy enough to stretch out in, and a sauna bath with its own cold plunge and an outdoor terrace for cooling off between rounds. Guests get one turn in Chasen-no-yu or Koryoku-no-yu included with their stay, booked at check-in, while the sauna bath costs extra. The water itself runs smooth and silky on the skin, in keeping with Ureshino's reputation for skin-softening onsen. Dinner is the inn's pride, a multi-course kaiseki meal served each evening.
