722. Ryoso Makibanoie, Yufuin ★★ I visited for a day-use bath for ¥1000. Day-use is listed from 11:00 to 17:00. Private baths are available for overnight guests. There is also a bath rotation by men and women, probably only for overnight guests as well. The ryokan is a grounds with houses in a farmhouse style and thatched roofs. Inside, it is very cozy, and the staff are friendly and attentive. A huge outdoor bath made of stone with a view of the mountain. The design is nice, with a large lantern and rocks. The water is clear, and the temperature is 40-41.5 depending on the measurement point. An impressive bath in both size and design, in a very nice location, recommended both for a day visit and for staying overnight. 05.01.2026
