A hot-spring hotel above Mikawa Bay in Gamagori, Aichi. The open-air bath and the indoor men's and women's baths draw on two separate natural springs, and the line-up runs on to a carbonated bath, a reclining bath, a cold plunge and a sauna, so there's real variety beyond a single tub. The water is soft and smooth on the skin. Rooms look out over the bay, and day-use bathing is available daily alongside the hotel's buffet meals.
