The hotel's onsen, Ruri Onsen (瑠璃温泉), sits above the shore of Lake Biwa, with an indoor bath and an open-air bath that look out toward the lake and the Hiei mountains. The men's side has a dry sauna and a cold bath, while the women's side has a mist sauna instead. The water feels smooth on the skin. Biwako Hotel is a large hotel on the lakefront in Otsu, with banquet halls, guest rooms, and several restaurants. Day visitors can use the bath only on weekdays, as an add-on to a restaurant lunch, not on its own.
