Naminoyu Akane is a private open-air bath built into the breakwater rocks of Tachibana Bay, on the edge of Obama Onsen, with two identical wood-fenced tubs, Sora (空) and Umi (海). They sit right at the waterline: at high tide there's only about a 20-centimeter difference between the water in the tub and the sea outside. The spring water is salty, and there's no roof or wall between you and the bay, just open water, the waves and the sunset. It's booked as a private tub for up to four people, with check-in at the reception of Hotel Orangebay nearby rather than on-site.
