Old riverside ryokan in Iizaka with five kakenagashi baths
Uses natural hot spring water
Open-air outdoor bath
A private bath you can reserve for yourself or your group
A small ryokan in Iizaka Onsen with five baths, all of them kakenagashi (源泉かけ流し). The stone-built rotenburo sits on the ground floor looking down on a waterfall, so you bathe to the sound of it, and there is a family bath made of rough marble that can be booked for private use. The rooms are by the river and you can hear the water from inside. It is an old, plain, Showa-era inn that gets worn-in rather than polished, and it is also known for its unusual kaiseki meals.
