Crystal View Hotel

Crystal View Hotel is a big Itoen Hotels property in Nishi-Izu's Ugusu hot spring area, up above Suruga Bay. It runs two large communal baths, a solid hinoki-wood room with an attached open-air corner and a European, Roman-bath-styled indoor Crystal bath; men and women use each bath at different times of day, and the split alternates between odd and even dates, so both sides get time in the open-air corner. Both baths run a sauna, and day-use bathing is open to outside visitors too. The hotel has 78 rooms, from plain tatami rooms facing the hills to two-room suites and connecting rooms that look straight out over the bay. In summer a hot-spring-fed outdoor pool runs next to a shallower one for kids, and downstairs there is a free karaoke room, table tennis and a gift shop.
