Akaneironoumi Arujisu

All 15 guest rooms have their own open-air bath facing Suruga Bay, filled with salty spring water. A view bath on the top floor, with an open sandstone-style terrace built from Izu stone, and an indoor communal bath both draw on the same natural spring. The inn sits right in front of the beach in Odoi, on the west coast of Izu, and takes its name from the reddish light of the sunset that spreads across the bay, visible from every room. Inside, a wa-modern (和モダン) style built around a big old timber-beam atrium at the entrance gives it a Taisho-era, old-Japan feel rather than a typical seaside-hotel look.
