Tokiwaya is a ryokan in the fishing port of Heda, on the west coast of the Izu Peninsula. The communal bath has an indoor and an open-air section, and there are also two private open-air baths that guests can use free of charge whenever one is open, no reservation needed. Some look out over Heda's harbor, and the water itself is a calcium sodium sulfate spring. There's no sauna. Rooms and the dining hall serve local seafood, and the inn has the slightly worn, old-fashioned feel of a small port town lodging house rather than a polished resort.
