Kutsurogijuku Shintaki

Kutsurogijuku Shintaki is a ryokan at Higashiyama onsen in Aizuwakamatsu, built along the Yugawa stream. Guests can move between several baths: Watariyu and Sarunoyu, open-air baths right by the water, and Sennen-no-yu, which pairs a marble tub and a rock tub with its own open-air bath. The water feels light and non-greasy on the skin. Men's and women's hours for each bath rotate through the day, and at night three of the baths turn into reservable private baths. Some guest room categories come with their own open-air onsen bath. Staying guests can also walk over to bathe at Chiyotaki, the sister ryokan about four minutes away. Day-use bathing ended in 2023, so the baths are for overnight guests only now.
