Sodium-chloride-leaning blended source, but total dissolved solids sit at only 0.881 g/kg so the certificate classifies it as a simple thermal spring — hot category, 64.4 °C at the wellhead. Weakly alkaline (pH 7.7), gentle on the skin, with an unusually generous 116.9 mg/kg of metasilicic acid that leaves a thin silica film and makes the bath read like a textbook Japanese beauty-water source.

About

Funado no Banya (舟戸の番屋) is primarily a seafood restaurant on the Izu coast near Kawazu, but its open-air bath is the main draw for many visitors. You climb stone steps from the shore up to the rotenburo (露天風呂), a single outdoor tub sitting right on the clifftop. The water is clear and runs hot, and the view stretches out over Sagami Bay toward the Izu Islands. There is no washing area and soap is not allowed, just a tap for rinsing before you get in. After the bath, the restaurant downstairs does local seafood, including spiny lobster and shellfish.

203. Fishermen's Shack Public Spa, Kawazu Literally an onsen at a fishermen's shack. You buy a 300 yen pass at the shop, then walk up some stairs and toward the bay to reach the onsen. They stamp the Shizuoka 60+6 Onsen book. No shower, no body wash or shampoo — just a faucet with a hose and a basin tied to it. Found the water composition sign on top of a cabinet. Water in the bath is clear, hot+ temperature. There's some small debris in the bath (like grass and dirt). Great view of the water and the waterfront. If you're in the area, highly recommended. The atmosphere, bath views, and price — all really strong.

Funado-no-Banya. A 300 yen onsen with a sea view. Moderately hot, very chill. As a bonus, there's a hose with cold water — I gave myself some cold water dousing.
