About

Kintarou Onsen Koufukaku (光風閣) is a large hot-spring hotel on Toyama Bay in Uozu, with an indoor bath, an open-air bath, and four private baths available by reservation. The attached day-use bathhouse, Karuna no Yakata (カルナの館), adds its own sauna plus a waterfall bath (utaseyu, 打たせ湯), a seated foot bath, and a jet bath. The spring water is a sulfur-and-salt mix, kept flowing fresh (kakenagashi, 掛け流し) through the baths. Tattoos aren't allowed in the shared baths, but guests with tattoos can use a private bath instead. Rooms face either the Tateyama mountains or Toyama Bay, and some come with their own open-air bath, though those run on heated tap water rather than spring water. Kids are welcome, and there's an outdoor pool open in summer. Returning guests mostly talk about the baths themselves.
