On any date containing the digit 8, a Hachimantai Day promotion, adults pay 400 yen and children 300 yen. A 5-visit ticket book costs 2,500 yen, and a bathing-plus-lunch set is 1,000 yen.

A 54.2 °C sodium chloride-sulfate-bicarbonate spring carrying enough sulfide to qualify as a sulfur-bearing source, with the faint rotten-egg note of H₂S layered over the chloride salinity. Alkaline pH 8.4 gives the slippery beauty-water feel on the skin, balanced by sulfate body and bicarbonate softness. At 1,566 mg/kg of dissolved solids it sits in the moderately mineralized band — present on the body without ever feeling heavy.

Oraho-no-onsen is a day-use bathhouse in Hachimantai with indoor tubs, a German-style sauna and a cold-water bath beside it. The source water comes from deep underground and is replaced fresh every day rather than recirculated; it's colorless, faintly salty, and smooth on the skin. The bathing hall has a wide window that faces a garden and the wooded hills behind it, with Mt. Iwate visible beyond. The building has kept its old, well-worn character, with little remodeled over the years. Near the entrance, on the way to the baths, is a small room set up with a vintage TV, a tabletop baseball game, records and a hand-crank phonograph. There's a restaurant serving soba, ramen and other simple dishes after a soak, and a rest area where local visitors tend to linger.
