Seiranso is the oldest inn in the Okuyugawara hot spring area, tucked into a quiet mountain valley. The indoor baths open onto a view of the river below, and the outdoor bath sits beneath a waterfall, with the men's and women's sides swapping on a rotating schedule. There's no sauna, but a private family bath can be booked separately, and guests with tattoos who can't use the shared baths can still soak there. Some guest rooms have their own small onsen tub, so you can bathe on your own time as well as in the main baths.
