Hotel Monarque Tottori is a city hotel a short walk from JR Tottori Station, with its own onsen source feeding the indoor bath, one each for men and women. The water is soft and gentle on the skin. The sauna was recently renovated with a Finnish HARVIA heater for a milder heat. Day-use bathing is available separately from an overnight stay. A natural hot spring rising in the middle of a prefectural capital, right by the train station, is rare in Japan. Most hot springs are out in the mountains instead. The hotel's restaurant and banquet rooms are also used by people who aren't staying overnight, including for family gatherings.
