A small ryokan in Ishikawa, southern Fukushima, with separate men's and women's baths, each with an indoor bath and an open-air bath. The open-air bath looks onto a Japanese garden, and its floor is laid with Nachi stones said to stimulate pressure points throughout the body. It is roomy enough for four or five adults. The water is known for keeping you warm after you get out. Day-use bathing (higaeri nyuyoku, 日帰り入浴) is available. The spring is said to have been struck by the monk Kukai (Kobo Daishi) in the early Heian period, and the bath is called Yakushi-no-yu (薬師の湯).
